SPA offers members access to practical, industry-specific training to support safe, respectful and compliant workplaces.
Members can enrol employees and agents free of charge in both courses below. We encourage making this training a standard part of your employment policies to help prevent discrimination, harassment or bullying.
Respectful Workplaces
The Respectful Workplaces e-training course promotes safe, inclusive workplaces where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. It breaks down cultural and sexual orientation biases, while highlighting the benefits of diversity, including stronger collaboration, creativity, retention, and employee well-being.
Contact Officer
The Contact Officer e-training supports productions to be able to respond properly to bullying, harassment and discrimination. If problems arise on set, the Contact Officer may be the first point of contact, a go-to person for friendly support, and they need a clear understanding of their role and responsibility.
The course covers how to identify unacceptable behaviour, the relevant legislative framework, and practical communication techniques to support colleagues in deciding on appropriate next steps. Tailored to the screen industry, the training helps Contact Officers perform the role confidently, sensitively and effectively.
